This is a very hot story while at the same time it’s very sweet and compassionate. Albert’s author’s note at the end of the book describes all of the research she did to write this book and I’m sure that contributed to how authentic it seemed to me as I read it. I don’t personally know anyone with the injuries that Ryan has or anyone who has adult ADHD, but Ms. #gaymers has been such a wonderful series but this book particularly touched my heart. When their flight gets rerouted due to bad weather the two of them are kind of thrown together and things progress from there. Josiah wants to excel in his first assignment as project manager. Ryan wants nothing more than to finish his rehab and return to military life, hopefully as an instructor. Ryan wasn’t even supposed to be in first class an airline employee, grateful for his service, bumped him up. The unlikely couple-to-be meet when they are seatmates in first class on a flight that Josiah nearly missed. Josiah has adult ADHD and Ryan was severely injured when a SEAL mission went sideways. Josiah and Ryan both have their issues but they are trying to get past them. You should read the others though because they are fantastic just like all of Annabeth Albert’s books! Her writing has the ability to transport me to another place – and keep me up all night if I start reading one of her books too late!
